Jamiroquai tracks have been featured over the years on US TV dance shows and this week we had Canned Heat on So You Think You Can Dance.  The dancers were Kherington & Mark and this was their "Jazz" dance for the show.

The video can be seen over at YouTube.

According to The Sun newspaper (UK) and a number of other news sources, Jay has applied to test drive the new car from Lotus - their first new car design in over 10 years - and a 'bargain' at around 60,000 GBP (120,000 USD).

If you're a fan of ex-Jamiroquai bassist Stuart Zender then you can't do much better than being a regular visitor to StuartZender.net.  Stuart recently gave an interview to Bass Magazine (a scan is available at the website) where he talks about a number of things including how some of the basslines to Jamiroquai songs were written...

Q: How do you write your basslines?

SZ: To be honest with you, I don't think about it - I just do it. Most of the stuff is an accident, it just works out. In Jamiroquai, Jay would come up with some bassline ideas, and I'd further it from there. He's the most amazing songwriter and performer. I saw them without me for the first time about two years ago and it was a bit of a weird one! They were good, but it was different - I guess it's not the essence of what we were.

The full interview can be read via StuartZender.net, and a couple of days ago Stuart posted a message on his MySpace blog where he gives his (honest) opinion on the interview and the rest of the magazine...

At the 2008 North Sea Jazz Festival that was held in The Netherlands this past weekend, Dutch trumpet player Rik Mol spoke briefly in an interview about the news that he is going to record some music with Jamiroquai.  He said that he is going to record his second album with "the guys."  Rik said that he is happy about the opportunity to work with the band - he met them whilst performing in London and loves the feeling of rhythm in their music.

UPDATE (15 July 2008): I have been told that Rik Mol will be doing some work with Rob (Harris), Derrick (McKenzie) and Paul (Turner) - and not recording with Jamiroquai.  This work (as with other 'side projects' that the bandmembers are involved with) will be done when the band are not working on the new Jamiroquai album, which currently takes priority.

The organisers of Jamiroquai's 16 August concert in Ahaus (Germany) for the Tobit Software NightClubbing event (which I guess is the official name for the event that the band are playing at) have announced a competition for new bands to get the opportunity to perform at the festival on the same stage as Jamiroquai (and the other bands performing - which include The Brand New Heavies).

Information about the competition can be found at the Tobit.com website, and more information about the NightClubbing/Festival can be found at nightclubbing.de.
