It was recently reported that the band would be performing in Hong Kong later this year although (as we're almost at the end of the year!) no news had appeared.  Well, it seems like there isn't an actual concert (thanks to the jamirotalk.net review of one of the recent Audi gigs in Germany), but more an appearance by Jay.

The Dragon-I club in Hong Kong has Jamiroquai listed to perform there on 22 November for their 6th anniversary.  I'm guessing they just mean Jay because on the Lifestyle Hong Kong website they say... "Jamiroquai & Danny Rampling.  The duo comes to HK to celebrate Dragon-I's 6th birthday."  For information, Danny Rampling is a famous dance music DJ.

Whilst in Germany performing small gigs as part of a tour to promote the launch of the new Audi Q5 motor car, some interviews with Jay are appearing in the German press.

In an interview published at the Zeit.de website, they print the following:

  • It is hoped that the new album will be released around May/June 2009.
  • There are plans for a number of festival tour dates in 2009.
  • A new record deal (contract) will be signed shortly.
  • There will be concerts in Hong Kong and Korea later this year.
Jay also said that he owns 37 motor vehicles and that he "drives too fast!"

Although Jamiroquai are no longer signed to the Sony BMG record label, Sony are still running a Jamiroquai YouTube channel and it has recently been updated.  It looks pretty smart, contains a number of official videos and also links to other Jamiroquai clips on YouTube.

Jamiroquai's YouTube channel can be found at http://uk.youtube.com/jamiroquaitvuk.

Please note that the official Jamiroquai YouTube channel can be found at http://uk.youtube.com/jamiroquaivideo and any new videos from the band will be posted to this channel first.

Jamiroquai backing singer Hazel Fernandez is listed as one of the backing singers performing with The Brand New Heavies at a recent concert from the Indigo2 venue in London.  The concert was recorded and is being sold on CD at their current gigs.
